NMSDC Recognizes Alex López Negrete
for 24 Years of Leadership

The National Minority Supplier Development Council honored Alex with the distinguished NMSDC Leadership Award for his long-term commitment and achievements in minority business development. The NMSDC, through its network of over 3,500 corporate members, provides a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses with the purpose of providing more procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.

More than 1,250 guests attended the National Minority Supplier Development Council black-tie event on May 13th in New York City, with business owner Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, serving as master of ceremonies. The three honorees were Alex López Negrete; David B. Dillon, chairman and CEO of the Kroger Company; and Kenneth M. Ricketts, president and CEO of Quality Packaging Specialists International.

"These three business leaders have a legacy of unparalleled commitment to minority business development," said NMSDC President Harriet R. Michel. "We are proud to celebrate their long-term accomplishments and continued efforts to provide opportunities for all Americans to fully participate in our nation's economy."

Alex honored for long-term accomplishmentsAlex's recognition was for the many years of commitment and visionary leadership he has given to the minority business sector. As a pioneer in Hispanic marketing and co-owner, with his wife Cathy, of one of the nation's largest independent Hispanic owned and operated marketing agencies in the country, he has focused on the growing Hispanic market segment for more than 24 years, guiding clients and businesses to address a very viable and important consumer and community.

"Receiving this recognition from the NMSDC is extraordinarily meaningful to us, primarily because our status as a privately held, Hispanic owned and operated company is something we take very seriously, and because it is core to the values and vision which have driven our enterprise for the past 24 years: to bridge the gap between corporate and Hispanic America with communications that empower each of them to achieve their goals," said Alex López Negrete. "As a Corporate Plus member of the NMSDC, we have experienced first-hand and are appreciative of what the organization and its leadership do, every day, to highlight the added value that minority-owned businesses bring to the table. We are grateful for this and the honor they have bestowed upon us with this award."

Lopez Negrete Communications is the only marketing firm that is an NMSDC Corporate Plus member, and is grateful to Bank of America for sponsoring the agency into this prestigious group.
